Billy Batson, un orphelin de 14 ans, est placé dans une énième famille d'accueil. Il devient ami avec Freddy, qui doit marcher avec une béquille. Un jour, au collège, celui-ci est attaqué par des élèves. Billy Batson vient à son secours et échappe à ses poursuivants dans le métro. Le train marque un arrêt dans un monde parallèle. Quand un être mystérieux lui demande de dire «Shazam», Billy devient un super-héros comme par miracle. Freddy découvre avec stupeur la métamorphose de son ami et l'entraîne pour qu'il découvre ses dons. Alors qu'il les maitrise à peine, Billy se met en tête de jouer les justiciers...

Who would consume the food out of and Eddie? at 2:46 it is clear that Eddie's face is right behind the symbiote, thus conveying that Eddie would consume the food. But how would he consume a person? at 2:50, you see about to eat a person and you see the inside of his mouth. Where did Eddie's face go? where does the human he ate go when he turns back into Eddie?"
